Sustainable Business Strategies and Analytics for UN SDGs and Climate Change Transition

Sustainable development is the target of every nation around the world, and policymakers and corporations are looking for solutions to implement the SDGs. As the individual goals of the 17 SDGS are linked with each other, a holistic approach is needed to implement the SDGs in any nation. The beginning point should be designed in such a way, so that almost all the SDGs can be covered in a single move. This might require the modeling of the sustainability framework with the economic, social, and ecological aspects. According to the United Nations, data gaps are a major issue in implementing SDGs. It undermines the true picture of SDG implementation of a nation. Hence, a systematic implementation of SDGs needs to take care of these data-oriented challenges. Moreover, effective diffusion of learning from the entire implementation process is required.
Climate Change Transition is one of the SDG goals, but business organisations face challenges and risks when financing climate transition. How these funds are obtained and utilized and how to cope with the associated challenges will be one area of this MDP programme.

As SEBI has come up with BRSR (Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting) guidelines for the top listed firms, it is high time for Indian firms to align their business processes and practices with National Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct (NGRBC) nine principles. As each business is different and there are various challenges in the implementation, this course for corporate professionals is designed to bridge this gap, where it attempts to sensitize the practitioners with detailed BRSR guidelines, and its implementation. As BRSR is aligned with global reporting standards, the participants will be exposed to the global trends of sustainability reporting, and ESG guidelines including CSRD framework of Europe. Also, organisations need to recognise the material issues in sustainability practices in two dimensions: importance to the organisations, and importance to society.
