Profile

Dr. Avik Sinha is associated with the area of Economics & Public Policy as Associate Professor. He is Ph.D. (FPM) from Indian Institute of Management Indore, PGDM (Finance) from Institute of Technology and Management Mumbai, and B.Tech. (Electronics and Communication Engineering) from National Institute of Technology Durgapur. Prior to joining MDI Gurgaon, he has worked with Goa Institute of Management, Administrative Staff College of India, and Tata Consultancy Services.

He has been featured under the list of “Top 2% Scientists” published by the Stanford University and “Highly Cited Researchers” published by the Clarivate Analytics. His research interests include Energy and Environmental Economics, Sustainable Development, and Applied Econometrics. He has published extensively in Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Applied Energy, Journal of Environmental Management, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Annals of Operations Research, Journal of Cleaner Production, and several other reputed journals. He is the Associate Editor of Gondwana Research and Heliyon Business and Economics. He is also serving as the International Editorial Advisor of Energy Policy.

His works are focused on the area of policy research for attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a special focus on SDG 13, SDG 7, and SDG 8. Presently, he is working on various dimensions of Energy Transition and the Dark Sides of Innovation. On methodological front, he is presently working on advanced quantile modelling, decomposition-based inequality assessment, and co-movement analysis.
