July 28, 2022 | 04:00-06:00 PM

With advanced computer technology, it is crucial to understand computer ethics related to security, especially when all unethical acts are not illegal. It is of utmost importance to understand privacy issues, and major negative impacts of unethical conduct/actions in cyberspace and information technology (IT) society. Strategies at individual and organisational level should be formulated to address a growing number of global ethical questions emanating from potential negative impacts of unethical conduct in cyberspace. In this connection, MDI Gurgaon is organising a Speaker Series event themed “Ethical Issues in Cyberspace and IT Society”. Mr. Shivbihari Pandey, a young, energetic alumnus of IIT Kanpur and a security researcher, will talk about some pertinent ethical considerations in cyberspace and IT society. The focus will be on issues like information about an individual can be revealed to others, how should one handle data piracy on computer networks, who is allowed to access data and information, and how can safeguards be introduced to ensure that the information can be accessed only by the right person or organisation.

Prof. Parul Gupta, Associate Professor in the Area of Strategy and General Management, MDI Gurgaon, will be the moderator of the event.
