Teaching Learning Centre

The Teaching and Learning Centre at MDI (TLC@MDI) recognizes that faculty is the key resource for driving excellence in management both in terms of student’s learning in the classroom as well as applications in practice. The nature of management education demands an active learning style for which student engagement is critical. The spectrum of activities used in active learning engages students in a higher-order thinking task (e.g analysis, synthesis, evaluation, reflection) which in turn helps the students to achieve more in the learning outcomes. Thus the nature of learning becomes experiential which is more effective in practice.

The center aims to facilitate teaching excellence, encourage innovative approaches to design and delivery of courses and programmes, making learning more experiential and help support innovations in curriculum development.

The center will thus enable teaching excellence in management education by offering teaching workshops & seminars, one-on-one mentoring, and resource support for faculty as well as FPM and EFPM students both from MDI Gurgaon and other institutions.

The center would encourage innovative approaches to curriculum design in the context of experiential learning, short-term faculty development programmes, as well as online, off-line, blended, and hybrid models of teaching and learning. The center will provide professional guidance and support to the faculty for developing engaging content and teaching cases.

The centre will facilitate:

  1. Teaching excellence, encouraging innovative approaches to design and delivery of courses and programmes, and will help support the writing and publication of cases
  2. Teaching workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and resource support for faculty as well as FPM and EFPM students.
  3. The centre will conduct seminars and workshops to help enhance the quality of teaching in other institutions.
  4. Developing innovative approaches in the context of experiential learning, short-term management development programmes, as well as online, off-line, blended, and hybrid models of teaching and learning.
  5. Professional guidance and support to faculty interested in case writing and case publication, through MDI’s partnership with Emerald Publishing.
