MDI has a state-of-art computing facility consisting of 538 PC nodes / laptop includes IBM Pentium based servers, IBM RISC Server and Tulsient CD/DVD Server connected on a high speed Gigabit Ethernet Fibre Optic/UTP based network in a distributed Windows and Linux environment. All these nodes have access to the Internet through an 16 MBPS leased line. Application software like MS Project, Primavera, SPSS, SQL Server, Rational Suite Enterprise, Data Mining software SPSS Clementine etc. are extensively used. Facilities for Scanning & printing include high speed Laser Jet Network printers.
The Camps Network is protected using ISS Proventia M50 6 Port appliance based Firewall. Email virus protection is provided through Trend Micro Virus wall.
Assessment, online software for grading, course registration, faculty feedback, attendance in class, conducting online evaluation, etc. has also been installed on the network. This can be selectively accessed by members of MDI community (students, faculty, programme, administration, etc.) to get the current status on-line.
The campus wide 100 MBPS network with optical fiber backbone and structured cabling provides intranet as well as internet connectivity between and /to all computers with faculty, students, PGPM/NMP academic block, administration, hostel rooms and faculty residences.
WI-FI NETWORKING at MDI CAMPUS
To provide flexibility & convenient access to network facilities Wi-Fi Network facilities (IEEE 802.11b.g) has been provided at the various locations in campus i.e. Graduate Program Academic Block, Auditorium and Graduate Program Hostel Mess etc.
Internet/ISDN based Video Conferencing Facility
MDI has an Internet / ISDN based Video Conferencing Facility setup in the Auditorium. The video conferencing facility comprising of Polycom 4 way multiparty 7,800 Presenter and Visual Concert. This facility is used for holding global seminars inviting eminent speakers, placement interviews, and virtual student seminars in various programs especially for International Management students.
